Join Park Rangers and lend your helping hands for two hours to perform some trail maintenance on the Bonwell Trail section of the Adena Trace trail at Brookville Lake. A short talk on National Trails Day and the trails at Brookville Lake will take place. Participants will receive lake maps, hiking maps and will also view the biggest tree on Brookville Lake lands while performing a few hours of volunteer work. Litter removal as well as pruning the trail edges are most typical and planned maintenance. Please dress appropriately to perform safe trail work. Work pants, sleeved work shirt, work gloves, safety glasses, work shoes, and a water bottle are suggested. Registration and trail work will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the event will wrap up by 11:30 a.m. Bring a sack lunch to join other participants afterwards for a picnic. For more information, or if you can't make this event and would like to sign up to volunteer to help maintain the hiking trails at Brookville Lake, contact the DNR Office at 765-647-2657 for more information.
